Banty Red Tobacco & Ale Co. has been creating high quality virtual artifacts of sport and Americana for more than 2 decades. In 2015, we offered a few for sale and have since built an inventory of over 5,000 unique cards and a collector base of more than 1,000!
Phil Apostle is our artist. A baseball scout for 30 years, he has turned his focus to Banty Red creations on a full-time basis. He is available for commission work and loves suggestions for future material. All the images you see here reside in his enormous collection of original negatives and licensed files.
It begins with the image. Each one is hand tinted/painted using various hand and digital adaptations. The images are put through a range of proprietary filters that have been meticulously developed to transport the owner back in time. The stock and subsrates are as old as the card format.
